Volunteer Information

When: Every Thursday from 4:45pm to 6:45pm - see above for available dates.

Where: On Eagles Wings Church (near 84 Lumber in Northport). Get directions.

Who: Volunteer teams need a minimum of 8 people.

What: Your team will help supervise and serve dinner to a group of 20-30 children from Green Village.
Please plan to be at On Eagles Wings Church at 4:45pm. The kids will start to arrive around 4:55pm. There will be about 30 minutes of indoor/outdoor play and games (depending on the weather), during which your team can help supervise games or prepare plates of food in the kitchen.

After playtime, someone in your group is welcome to teach a short Bible lesson or show a Bible story video. We are on a teaching schedule for Fall 2022 going through stories of the Old Testament and how they point us to Jesus. You will be told which Bible story is on the agenda for your team after you sign up. We will work with you to come up with an activity and supplies that go along with the Bible story.

Next, your team will help pass out food and bottled water to the kids. After the kids leave for the night, please plan to stay for 15 minutes to help clean up.

Please tell your team to be flexible and willing to serve as needs arise.

You are not required to bring anything, but you may bring toys or activities for the children. Here are a few things that have been successful in the past: coloring sheets and crayons, VBS crafts, animal balloons, giant play parachute, soccer & football, and small toys that can be handed out to the kids (bring at least 30).
